How to view the Story as well as the Sub Task in the active sprint view?

Biresh Deo June 24, 2020

While viewing the active sprints, I am able to see the Task as per the user story.
However I want to see the User Story as well as the Subtask.

Initially, the User story and Sub task was getting displayed but now I am unable to see subtask. Screenshot providedUser Story View.jpg

One difference which I see:

In TP1 Sprint all options are active but in SPB there are few options (show detail view, Expand and Collapse Swimlanes) are disabled.

And for TP1 you've also chosen "story" as option in "base swimlanes on"?

The three fields that are greyed out in SPB are, according to my knowledge/understanding related to the option you choose to base your swimlanes on. We have based the swimlanes on our epics - and, understandably, are able to expand or collapse swimlanes.

Yes @Sebastian Mühleis , for TP1 Also I have chosen Story in Base Swimlanes.
That's is why it is driving me Crazy since the issue is not getting resolved.

And the board filters are also similar?

Biresh Deo June 25, 2020

Also, I have kept all the Board Settings same in TP1 and SPB.
Hence , I am still wondering why there are differences in the layout of the board and the options which are greyed out in one of the board.

In your picture with the fields that are greyed out, it seems to me that SPB is NOT sorted by story. It seems rather it is sorted by subtask.

Apart from that, I'm reaching the end of the road knowledge-wise in my approach to help you.

If it's neither the filter, nor the "base swimlane on" configuration, I don't see the difference between the two boards you have set up.

You're welcome - and I'm eager to see what caused the problem. Good luck in finding a solution to it.

Haha SPB-4/5/6/7/8/9 are all syub task.
Earlier they were coming as required i.e. Stories and then Subtasks but I believe something might have been changed by me as an Admin - Since then I am not able to view in the required layout. I am unable to recollect what I changed exactly.

Also, If you see TP-1 and Test1 that's an example board which I created and in the specific Board , the items are shown as required.

Hi @Sebastian Mühleis

Thanks for your response.
I tried referring to the card layout and selected Sub-task both in the Backlog as well as Sprint.
It is still not showing up .

Screenshot Attached (Screenshot 2 and 3)

I want something provided in the below Screenshot with a User Story named TP-1 and Sub Task mentioned as Test1TP1 .jpg

Although I do not know, if the SDFC-issues you display in screenshot 3 actually have subtasks, I'm willing to believe they have ;-)

Joke aside, I think now I have a clearer understanding of your problem and am also lightly confused that it still doesn't display the subtasks.

Which option have you chosen under "base swimlanes on" in the board settings?

And have you checked you board filters (if they "allow" subtasks, or maybe even exclude them)?

Hi @Biresh Deo ,

in the "board settings" -> "card layout" you should be able to solve your problem ;-)

If that doen't solve the problem or if you have further questions, let me know.

Kind regards,

Sebastian
