I want to create somethign like a burndown chart with different information - any recommendations?

Janine Daniels February 19, 2019

The burndown chart widget current calculates using time estimations for tasks. However, the small company I work at dont really keep up with their time tracking so much, so its never particularly useful. Id really like to get a similar style chart that calculate the percentage of tasks completed/remaining per sprint. Is there any other form of chart I can use to create this?

You can also use a dashboard with a pie chart or similar.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for the information. The problem with the pie chart, though, is that is only takes one info type. We have multiple issue types in the project, and I want to keep track on how many are open, in progress, completed etc., which requires two information inputs. If you have any other suggestions id be very happy to try it though! :)

Hello @Janine Daniels

You can use "2 dimensional gadget" to plot issue types vs statuses

Indeed, but the graph output type is different. I do have one already to give me quick numbers, but I would like a quick reference chart. Your information in the reply above helped though!

Hi Tarun,

Thanks for the information. The task listing and breakdown is pretty great, but from what I can see, the burndown chart at the top of the page is still calculating based on working hours rather than completed tasks. Do you know if there is there a way to change these values in the graph?

For the burndown chart you can easily switch the Burndown chart to "Issue count" instead of hours

Ah! I have been looking mostly at the dashboard gadgets rather than the reports page - thanks! Seems I have more investigating to do.

Im also using confluence to give readouts like in the sprint report of open/closed issues to those who dont have access. Do you know if it possible to also put the burndown chart reading issue status into confluence? So far I havent seen an option to change the input type for the chart widget in confluence.
