Hi guys, I would like to replace Story Points with a custom field called Estimated Effort in Days, we are trying something different in our team. I have created two custom fields called Estimated Effort in Days and Actual Number of Days. These fields are visible on the Issues Story, Task, Bug, New Feature and working as expected. I have removed the Story Points field from these same Issue Types.
I would now like to display this Estimated Effort in Days on the Backlog view and replace the Story Points, ie the value displayed in the grey circle.
I have removed Story Points from Contexts and default value for our Project. It now no longer displays on the Backlog. This is the expected behaviour.
I have created a new Context for Custom field Estimated Effort in Days and set it on the necessary Issue Types and Project.
But for some reason this value will just not display on the Backlog Issues (ie. in the grey circle not on a new line). I have seen time been displayed in this grey circle so it is not only for Story Points.
Here it displays as expected in the right side detailed panel.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thank you
Kevin
Hi @Kevin
Based on your detailed description, which was pretty helpful to understand what you are trying to accomplish. I would say that the only missing piece is to define the Estimated Effort in Days field as the Estimation Statistic for your board:
I did a test myself and it worked beautifully:
I hope it helps. If this answer helps solve the problem, please come back and mark this answer as solved to help other community members with the same challenge. If not, you are welcome to share your solution as well.

@Alex I have a question related to Kevin's - I'm wanting to use a custom field ("QA Estimate") on only one board within a project. I want to keep the default story points field visible in the grey circle in the Backlog view for several of the other boards within the project. Is that possible, and what do I need to do differently than what Kevin did above?
When I tried to change the Estimation Statistic for the new board I'm making to my custom field QA Estimate, it wasn't an option in the drop-down list, and my concern is that I'll have to make a project-wide change in order to use QA Estimate on my new board.
Sorry if this isn't the right format to ask a follow-up question on someone else's question; please direct me elsewhere if needed. Thank you!

Retagging because I think I tagged the wrong person - @Alex do you have an idea of what I might be doing wrong, or maybe what I'm trying to do isn't possible? Thanks!
