In Bulk JIRA upload , how do we add Story points and estimate from an excel sheet.
I have a column name with Story points on my csv , but when I try o map it to the JIRA fields , the story point and estimate are not coming up in the drop down . So is there any way to configure these columns to be mapped to the fields on the JIRA.
Is there any external plugin that could be used for the said purpose.
Hi @Lakshmi Priya ,
Just add "Story Point" & Estimate fields to your configured Create Screen.
and then try again.
Also,
If you are using the User Importer, located in....
...?
If yes, these fields aren't available via this Import Tool - which is a limited version of the Admin one.

You can set both Original Estimate and Story Points using the Admin Import Tool. You'll need to be a Jira Admin to use it, and then go to:

This help page has some great information about how to use the Admin tool - including how to format "Original Estimate"
Thanks @Manoj Gangwar
Yes, I have admin access and using the admin import tool - secure/BulkCreateSetupPage to import JIRA using csv . And I have a column - for story points and Original Estimate . But while importing , in the configuration for mapping of fields with columns - i dont find the story points and original estimate .
But after importing , I am adding the story points and the original estimates individually in each tickets . Which doesn't solve my purpose of bulk upload.

Hi @Lakshmi Priya,
just to add to previous answer, if you prefer a more interactive experience, this would also be easy to do using the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. You can also edit your issues in bulk, using copy/paste. This works within JXL, but also between JXL and pretty much any other app, including of course Excel.
This is how this looks in action:
This would work the same for estimates, of course. You can bulk-update any number of issues in one action, so you should be done with your work in no time.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
