Issues not appearing in default project board

Hi there,

I have a project set up in Jira and a board was automatically created when I created the project. The problem is that not all issues appear on the board.

There are 437 issues in the project, and only 85 appear in the board. The breakdown is:

  • To do: 40 on the board, 126 in the project
  • In progress: 25 on the board, 29 in the project
  • Done: 20 on the board, 272 in the project

I'm not worried about the done issues, but would like all the to do and in progress issues to appear on the board, since most of my team members prefer to use the board to see team members' workloads rather than doing a search. Is there any way to get everything to appear?

Thanks,

Jacqui

Is this a scrum or kanban board? Is this a software or business project? Are you able to access Board settings, i.e. do you see ellipses in the top right corner of the board? If so please click Board settings > General and have a look at your board's filter. If you are still stuck please provide a screenshot of your project page w/ board displayed.

Hi Jack, it's set up as a software project and an agile board. When I click on the ellipses button, the only options I get are manage workflow and hide cover images.

Hi Jack, it's an agile board and a software project. In the ellipses, it only gives me the options to manage workflows or hide cover images.

ok so then this is a next-gen project.

So I assume you are inspecting the missing issues by using a JQL filter? If not how are you coming up with the numbers? Can you dive into an example of a missing issue? What is different? Issuetype or something else?

We can see the missing issues in the issue search, filtered to the current project:

project = MKT order by created DESC

When comparing the issues in the search to the board, I realised that the board is only showing tasks, but not subtasks and epics.

So I'd like to be able to show both tasks and subtasks in the regular board view (not the group by subtasks view), but I'm not sure how.

As I suspected. So in NG this is not available AFAIK. There is an open issue that is "gathering interest" - Allow to move both stories and subtasks across next-gen board at the same time
