I thought I'd wow the new team, but it didn't go well.
We started the sprint using NEXT GEN Jira and chose "move incomplete tickets to new sprint". All of the DONE tickets moved too and there doesn't seem to be a way to hide them.
To be clear - we don't want to see "done" tickets anymore. How do I hide them? I am really hoping this doesn't fall into the "it's on the Next Gen Jira roadmap".
If it does - how can I migrate all the tickets from Next Gen Jira to old Jira vs. starting from scratch.
First you need to ensure Done is the right-most column when you complete the sprint. Stated differently all issues in the right-most column should be removed from the board when you successfully complete the sprint.
Thanks - I now have 40+ tickets in sprint 2 that were done in sprint 1. How do I remove them?

Was the sprint 1 board misconfigured which cause the done issue to roll into sprint 2? If so have you corrected the configuration so that Done is in right-most column? if so I would simply wait until sprint 2 is completed at which point they would disappear.

We added a field to the far right of the board other than "done" not realizing the layout of the board overrode the concept of the status "done". I assumed the status field value of "done" would dictate the the rule of not carrying over completed tickets. I should have read more instructions.

As an admin it'd be great if I could just change the sprint they were actually done in, but it appears locked.

It is a common misunderstanding for sure. In any event everything should clear once sprint 2 is completed.

Agreed. But for 2 weeks the backlog view (that we work in equally with the board view) is not usable. It's be great if I could filter that view by status as a work around, but I don't see that either.
About to explain to the team who just saw the issue. They are slacking me with "what happened to the work I completed? I moved it to done"...

and this is where we hit the NG capability wall unfortunately. In Classic you could use a quick filter to hide the S1 Done.
