Hi there,
I have the configuration problem described below and would appreciate very much any comment that pointed me in the right direction to solve it.
Two projects, of the Jira Software (TD) and Jira Work Management (TINF) types.
Note. As a convention to simplify the explanation I’ll use 'Project A > Project B', meaning 'Create a linked issue in Project B from Project A'.
Operation | Result |
TD > TINF | Linked issues don’t show neither in PS nor in PW Immediately after operation the pop-up in the bottom left corner appears:
|
TD > TD | Everything fine, as expected: |
TINF > TD | OK |
TINF > TINF | OK (see image above) |
I’m in both projects as an admin and have all permissions in the permission scheme.
The field Linked issues is included in the issue view screen layout.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
M

Hello @Manuel Carmona
Welcome to the community!
Can you please tells us which project is the PS and which is the PW? Is TINF the PS or PW project?
I think TINF is the PW project and TD is the PS project.
What is the Filter Query used in the PS board? Do you have any Quick Filters activated on that board when you have this problem?
Hi, @Trudy Claspill.
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I made some changes in my previous post to make it clearer.
I also checked the board filters and did some tests:
Apart from that I reproduced the setting in a different cloud instance with out-of-the-box project configurations and the situation is the same, so I'm starting to think that the problem is my lack of knowledge about how Jira Software projects work.
Maybe if a task in a Jira Work Management project is created from a JS project task, then the linkage isn't visible in either of them for a reason or under certain conditions. I don't know.
Again, if something comes to your mind, please share.
Thank you very much.
Regards,
M

Hi there.
I opened a ticket directly to Atlassian and got the following answer which I guess puts and end to the matter:
---
The option to directly create linked issues is not available for Jira Software projects at this moment, although it was already implemented for Jira Work Management and Jira Service management. However, we have a feature request for the same that can be tracked below
