Hello Uma,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

Just for a better understanding of the issue, I would like to know if it's possible to share with us a screenshot of where you need to change the Epic status.

On next-gen projects, there are three types of statuses To Do (Gray), In Progress (Blue), and Done (Green). So, even if we change the name of those statuses on the board or adding more Blue statuses, it will always show those three names on the Roadmap because it's related to the type and not the status itself.

When filtering the tickets by status, it will also show open Epics that contain closed child issues, and to change the status of an Epic it will be necessary to click on it to open on the right side.

Please, let us know more details about your use case, so we can test here to check what is happening.

Regards,
Angélica

It's possible to add "Blocks" between Epics using the dependencies on the Roadmap.

For more information about dependencies and all other features for Epics, please check the documentation below:

Thanks for the reply .. i understand with dependency it can be shown .. however activities such as decision making and top management approval can’t EPiC - it’s key task that holds things up

was wondering if I could highlight a colour or feature to show the status Of the epic “blocked” at the epic level view at all ?

It's possible to change the color of the Epic, but not to show it's status on the Roadmap, so I'm afraid that the feature you need it's not available.

Below is the list of the open feature requests regarding Roadmap:

Hi

ok .. sure colour of the EPIC but it’s so so manual. When we have a tool - we should be able to configure it. This whole colour setting can be done BUT dependent on someone to set the colour ..

tools are meant to help reduce work where possible and not create work,

With the colour chart approach- will need Legends of the colour .. it’s like we have an option but not fully useable kinda of option .. not able to add the legend at the roadmap view either.

kindly let me know what is the plan to rollout the new features or functionalities at the roadmap level.

Feel free to reach out .. if these fixes can be addressed in a next release as an upgrade or patch to apply - that will be awesome

Thanks

Each feature will depend on many factors to be implemented. Please, check our policy for more details:

There is another roadmap with more options available on our Premium plan. Maybe you can create a new Jira site trial and check if Advanced Roadmaps has the customizations you need:
