I have been trying to set a start date in the Jira business project timeline but it is not allowing me to set a date, everytime I move around a task/subtask in the timeline it shows the following error:
"We couldn't save the item. Field 'Start date' cannot be set. It is not on the appropriate screen."
I have also created a "Start date" field in "Context fields" in the project setting but still, it is not working. What do I do?
Hi @Asad Bin Saif ,
welcome to the Atlassian community!
Please verify that Start Date field is on the edit screen of your project/issue type.

Hi @Fabio Racobaldo _Herzum_
The start date is there already but still, it is producing the error in the timeline. Attaching a screenshot as a reference

How are you trying to update that field? Could you attach a screenshot of your error?

I am trying to move around the timeline for the tasks and subtasks to set a different start and end date, technically the start date should change accordingly but it is producing the following error. Attaching a screenshot for reference.

Please verify project type if it is team or company managed. If it is company managed please provide the Screen Scheme configuration

I was having the same problem, I created a field named 'Start Date' (note capital D in date) and the problem was resolved.
