hi all,
I have a team based project in JIRA, i cant figure out how to populate names in Requestor field dropdown. These will be names who do not have access to JIRA board but they are names of business individuals who will send these issues and will receive email notifications when issue is created.
can someone please guide me?
Can I clarify the need with a few questions?
Just in case this is a Jira Service Management Project - I'd recommend checking out:

hi Ste,
To clarify, i moved the issues from 2-3 boards into a single board. Earlier i was able to see business names in dropdown ( they didnt have access to board earlier too). After moving to new board i dont see their names populated unless they are provided access to the board.

In a Team-managed Project, the users will need some level of access to create Issues - see how permissions work in this help page
Is that what you mean by "Send Issues"?
I would try modifying the access permissions to the Project first, and see if this changes who is available in the Requestor field.

thanks Ste,
Business does not have any access to JIRA but I would record issues from them with their name on Requestor field. Wondering if there is a way to see their name on Requestor field dropdown without them having access to JIRA?
Seems like it worked in old team based project from which i moved.

What type of field is the "Requestor" field - both in your current Project, and the old Project?
You can locate the field type as a Project Admin:
---
I tested this in a Team-managed Project.
I created a People field, and tried to enter users into it who were...
I found I could locate and set a user in the field if they were in 1, 2 or 3 above - i.e either active users (with or without product access), or a JSM customer. Are your business users in any of these states?
Note: The People field is not a drop-down list, even though it looks like one when the pop-up comes up. It's a search bar which shows filtered results as a list - so you need to begin entering a user's details into it before they'll come up as an option.
---
If this does not work, the reason I asked about what type of field is in the old Project is that it might be a Dropdown field, which has had the business users added as actual options.
If that is the case, you'd need to recreate the field inclusive of its options in the new Project.
