Removing labels from appearing in the dropdown list?

Hi all, 

I've removed the labels by clearing out the fields and pressing find and remove via the bulk action but i can still see it in the dropdown list? How do i make them disappear completely?

Hi @Yian Green-Morrison , welcome to the Community. Labels should eventually disappear once all occurrences of the label have been deleted from all issues. I'm unsure how much time needs to pass before that occurs but expect a couple of hours is sufficient. To be sure that the label is indeed no longer used enter the following query into the View all issues search...

labels = mylabel

Does it disappear from the dropdown as well? Thats the part I'm trying to update with new labels but i don't want the old ones to show.

Yes, it should. It certainly has in the past though I have not had a need to try it lately.

@Yian Green-Morrison The labels are temporarily stored in browser local storage. If you want to quickly remove from suggestion, you can remove it from there.

We have documented this issue here: Delete labels are still suggested in label field

As Jack said, you can also just wait some time. They should eventually go away.

But they could still be suggested if they are used in archived projects. Only way to completely get rid of them is to restore projects and remove, see here.

thanks for clarifying info @Nar Kumar C_ - Narva Software . I had not considered archived projects but indeed that is something to think about.
