Roadmap API

Mac McCabe February 1, 2021

I'd like to make the roadmap visual available publicly (not requiring a jira user login) -- ideally this data and/or view is available in the Jira API. Anyone have luck with this?

Hi @Mac McCabe

I'm not sure the visual is available via the API - but all the data is just issue data that can be accessed and re-visualised in a similar format elsewhere (for example, in a BI tool).

I would consider checking out the REST API documentation, to help with this process.

Here's the problem. I'm not seeing the "start date" nor "due date" in the available data.

Hi @Mac McCabe

You should be able to locate the correct field parameters from viewing an Epic's issue details.

You could use:

  • https://<instance name>.atlassian.net/rest/api/2/issue/<issue key> - to view field name / ID mapped to values
  • https://<instance name>.atlassian.net/rest/api/2/issue/<issue key>?expand=names - to view field IDs mapped to field names

This should help you identify what information to pull :)
