Slack Issue Panel Shows Authentication Error

We have the built in Jira Slack integration enabled and it correctly sends Notifications to various slack channels when tickets are updated.

But on every jira issue there is a "Slack" panel on the sidebar that constantly displays a JSON authentication error.  How do I fix the permissions used by that panel, or just hide the panel?

In Slack, I also see an option to add a comment to a jira issue.  Attempting to do so also throws an error, presumably because of the same permissions issue.

Here's a screenshot of the error message:

Screen Shot 2020-08-25 at 9.41.08 AM.pngThis happens in an iframe trying to fetch the URL  https://jira-slack-integration.prod.atl-paas.net/issue_panel, which returns HTTP 401 with the above JSON

{"error":{"message":"Token not found","code":"AUTHENTICATION_FAILED"}

Clearly I need to set credentials up somewhere; I just don't know where.

This thread seems to indicate that there's an option to just hide the sidebar, which seems like an appropriate way to handle this.  I've looked everywhere in Jira settings and can't find that option though.  Where can I find that?

@Luiz Silva

We are having this problem as well - is there a resolution for us aside from the workarounds presented, please?

We do not want to use the new issue view, and we do want to retain the Slack channel posting features, but want to disable the broken sidebar feature...

Can you please advise how to fix this so it doesn't continue to slow our page loading? thanks!

Hi @Mike Ruhlin

Thank you for reporting this issue. We've identified there's indeed a bug on the App, affecting the "old" issue view page.

While we'll be working on it pretty soon, I'd suggest you could try the new issue view experience. To turn the new issue view on or off in Jira Software and Jira Core for now:

  1. Select Your profile and settings > Personal settings.

  2. Toggle the switch for the New Jira issue view.

If you don't see the Personal settings option when you click your avatar, the switch to turn the new issue view on or off will appear under Profile.

About hiding the sidebar, there's no specific option for that. What would be possible to do is disabling the integration altogether, however you and all other Jira users would miss all the benefits.

Cheers!

Can you provide the link to the bug please?

Terrance August 26, 2020

Yes, I would also like to track progress on this - an issue link would be very helpful, please @Luiz Silva

Hey y'all!

Sorry about the delay. I have now created a public ticket at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/API-288.

I believe our team will be able to work on this ticket in the next few days. Please watch that ticket for updates.

Cheers!
