Smart assign for cloud?

I've seen several articles around smart issue assignment in Jira.  This is where issues are automatically assigned to users via an automation rule when the issue is created based on a "Round Robin" or "Balanced Workload" basis.  However, the articles are for Jira Data Center and not Cloud.

Is anyone aware if this smart assign functionality is available in Cloud or if it's on a roadmap/backlog, or even if there's a plugin?

Glad to help. Yep google is a great broadcast net but for Atlassian help I always use this approach…

This feature is currently available for Jira Cloud as a native feature now. I have used it and works seamlessly.
