We recently moved from one instance of Jira to a new instance that allows our customers to use the self-serve portal. In the original instance, we used to have the option to add a subtask to the ticket (see attachment for icon specification). On the new instance, I see that Subtasks are turned on, however we no longer see the icon. How do we go about reinstating the icon for use?
In your new instance, go to Settings > Issues > Sub-tasks. And make sure that Sub-tasks have been enabled and that you have at least one Sub-task type.
If all of that is good, then make sure your Issue Type Scheme attached to the project has the Sub-task issue type included.
Hi @seelye.naomi , it sounds like you have moved to, or started using, Jira Service Management to give you access to the customer portal.
First thing I would check is the issue type scheme used by your project - do you have a y subtask issue types associated with your scheme? Depending on how you moved to this new instance/product, you may need to re-configure things such as this scheme

Yeah sure:
Go to project settings > Summary - can you see any subtask issue types in the list under 'Issues'? If not:
