Tickets cannot be created - Couldn't create the issue

Jannis Hamann February 15, 2023

Since yesterday noone in our company can create tickets in 2 boards. Every other board works.

When trying to create a ticket, we receive the error message:

Couldn't create the issue. We're having trouble creating the issue. Refresh the page and try again.

When you look into the developer console, the request fails with a 500 error for rest/api/3/issue?updateHistory=true&applyDefaultValues=false

We already tried switching browsers. Since we are using Jira cloud, we also cannot access the logs to check for more information.

Do you have any clue what could cause this? Do you have any suggestions what we could try?

Thanks for you help!

I also reached out to Jira customer support. They suggested to recreate the workflows for those 2 boards, because there apparently was a broken function in it, that it's not presented in the UI.

No clue what exactly that means, but recreating the workflows helped

hi @Jannis Hamann , are you still experiencing this issue? Are you able to create a ticket outside of the board, that is, can you simply used to create button?

I just answered above. Issue was resolved by recreating the workflows for the 2 boards

I had a similar issue, in my case it was due to a post function that set a certain value, but that value was not available for that project/issue type, therefore adding said value fix the problem
