When sub task is moved to done, automatically Main task should move to done

when it was simple work flow, it worked like the same, but now its not working and constantly showing some error, please help how i can proceed this, Find the attachment below,

Hi @NANDHANA_VAZ - You'll need to review the parent workflow.  It is likely one of two things has occurred:

1. The transitions have become more stringent where the parent must be in a specific status before transitioning to Done and your parent issue is not in this status when the rule executes
2. The destination status has changed (e.g. The parent now uses a status like Closed instead of Done)

So, you'll need to do a little bit of digging to see what changed in the parent workflow in order to adjust the rule accordingly.

before the condition is when issue transmitted from pending for approval to done , now i have changed only to done i left the blank, and also if the done status is with the all status the automation is fine, if not it is working

Ok - So this is a team-managed project, correct?

It appears that PENDING FOR APPROVAL is still the only status that can transition to DONE.  So, you'll need an issue field condition in your branch:

status = Pending For Approval

Without the condition, the rule will fail any time the parent status is something other than that.

Let's take a step back.  Can you please clarify a couple things for me?

• How many parent issue types might the sub-tasks be tied to?
• Are the workflows for the sub-task and parent issue type(s) the same workflow or does each have a unique workflow?
  • If the workflows are unique, which workflow did you share with me above?

1. there is different issue type as task and linked to subtasks and iam using only one work flow!

In that case, I can't see any further issue with the rule.  Are you still getting the same error in the audit log?

It is exiting out because the parent issue is not currently in the status PENDING FOR APPROVAL. 

Is your intention to have the parent transition to Done regardless of status?  If so, you'll need to tweak the workflow to support that type of transition.

yeah, i checked and corrected it worked, thank you.

(Since it is mentioned as pending for approval to done status, main task should be in pending for approval, then it is transited done automatically. and  for moving to IN progress and pending for approval i have made other automations, which is working perfect)
