Why does Development show "Declined" when the only linked-to PR has been Merged?

Mostly the integration between Jira Cloud and GitHub is working well.

But, sometimes a Jira issue will show that the associated GitHub PR has been "Declined", when in fact it has been merged.

Any way to fix this?

We just had that issue today: github PR has been merged but shows as DECLINED in Jira

I've since learned that this is a known issue - I found this out by reporting this issue to GitHub Support.

There is no ETA on fixing this issue - but GitHub support said I could keep replying to the ticket I opened with them to ask about updates. If I hear something substantive, I'll add an update here.
