Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×I'm using Jira in a Chrome browser and normal operation is for Shift-Click to open the link in a new window.
It doesn't work in my Jira Dashboard Page and instead opens the link in the current page, which is REALLY ANNOYING!
Shift-Click on other sites works and also on Confluence pages, so it seems to be Jira behaviour.
I can't see a config option to control this to give me the correct action - is there one?
Hi @Paul Rowlands,
That works perfectly fine for me. I would dare to say the issue is not related to Jira. Maybe there is a local problem with your browser, so I would suggest to restart it, clear cache, maybe update it?
As an alternative, ctrl-click should open your link in a new tab. Maybe that can help as a workaround too?
Thanks for the reply.
That's curious, as a colleague replicated the behaviour too. I'll check it out with a fresh install and see what it does.
Re. your workaround: yes, middle-click opens in another tab.
