I recently discovered the location setting on kanban board is missing. I used to find it as discribed here, but now it is missing, does anyone know how to change location on kanban board in a different way?
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/change-the-location-of-a-board/
I need to be able to change location in order to use the copy feature for kanban boards.
In the list of all kanban boards there is a colum displaying location so jira does not seem to have removed the feature completely.
It's still there in our instance via:
^ Can you show us a screenshot of your Board Settings? And this is a Classic Board (rather than Next-Gen)?

There is now a bug raised for when Location disappears whilst copying a board: JSWCLOUD-20693
You can also try contacting https://support.atlassian.com/ if your Location field is missing off multiple boards, to see if they can help re-visualise it!
Or, a workaround to modify the Location is...
Ste
@Ste Wright I used to see the location same place as you describe.
I can see in the code on the board setting there is a div container for location but it is empty.
As you can see in screenshot from board the location is missing. this is the same on all our boards.

If I create a new board I can choose location, when I see the list of kanban boards I can also see location. so I am puzzeled as to why is is not possible to edit on existing kanban boards.

Strange - that's not something I've seen before.
Is this a board with multiple projects in the filter? Is it possible the Location of the board is in a project you have no "browse projects" access to so don't see it?

Hi @Ste Wright,
I double checked and the filter for the board is pretty simple, "project = IIT ORDER BY key ASC, duedate ASC". I am admin on our installation so I believe I have access to everything. I checked the permission scheme and we have one scheme for all projects and I set admin group which I am part of as having access to browse projects.
thanks for the sugegstions though. :-)
It seems like a bug on our installation, although I do not understand how that works when we use the cloud version, I thought all installations on cloud would be running the same software.

It might still be worth contacting https://support.atlassian.com/ to see their thoughts on this issue. It's not something I've personally seen before!
Let us know if there's an outcome to this issue!

It has magically reapeared this morning... I wonder if there is some sort of cache that has been cleared over the weekend og an internal bug with jira that has been rectified? Its there now which is great. I will contact support and let them know.

Same problem periodically happens on our instance as well.

Hi @Roland , @Simon Rasmussen
This looks like a bug which happens during Board Copy. I copied another of our board and the Location field is now missing.
I haven't located a method to make "Location" reappear in Board Settings - but I did find a workaround to modify the location in this scenario:

Thank you @Ste Wright ,
This workaround truly works.

Great. I contacted support a few weeks ago and have not heard back but it is good to see there is a bug raised.

We have the same problem. After copying a bord the location is gone. We only use Classic projects.
I used the work-around to solve the problem for now.
