Hi. I am looking to see if there is a way to assign a Salesforce Case to one of two Jira Project options based on the type of Case.
Is this possible?
I have one case type that deals with bugs and another case type that deals with customer support (which we classify as Tasks in Jira).
I'd like to split this out into two different projects to keep the boards clean for each project.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
You can try Sinergify- A Salesforce Jira Connector.
Sinergify is a connector for Salesforce and Jira integration. It allows the integration of all standard and custom Salesforce objects with Jira products.
I hope it helps.
Thanks for your reply, is there a way around without a third-party app?

Yes, two possible ways to integrate Salesforce & Jira:
1. Via custom integration
In the custom way, a code is developed to integrate both the instances (Salesforce & Jira). This code is developed in such a way that it allows a one-way or two-way flow of information between both the instances.
2. Via a connector
A connector, however, is a more preferred option over custom integration. A connector, as the name suggests, uses the APIs of both the platforms to connect both the tools. It is usually an app that can do much more than a custom integration.

Hi Scott,
Hope you are doing well. Our Connector for Salesforce & Jira can help you in achieving just that! You can bind a Project (or two) to use with the connector, and then set up your mappings for the Bug Issue type. Then you would set up your other project's mapping to the Task issue type. Both of these mappings would be bound to the Case object.
For more information on how to set this up you can check out the documentation on Project Binding and Setting up mappings based on Issue Type.
You are more than welcome to try out our Connector free for 30 days so that you can test your use case. The trial also entitles you to get help from Support should you need it.
Best Regards,
Pablo
