Jira Software (cloud) has a built-in backup feature that allows you to create a full backup of your instance. You can create manual backups whenever needed. To access this feature, go to Jira Settings > System > IMPORT AND EXPORT > select Backup manager > Under Backup for cloud, select Create backup for cloud. Find more details here.
Jira Cloud does not support automated backups. But there is a workaround.
Regarding plugins, I can suggest Issue History for Jira developed by team. The app is a diary of all past user activities (issue history) + it tracks and restores deleted issues. Check it out and let me know if you find it helpful.
