When creating new sprints, year automatically set to next year?

When I go into the Backlog to create a new sprint, the year is automatically set to next year and not to the current year. I then have to manually change the year to this year. Is there a reason why this keeps happening and is there a way to fix this?

Here's a screenshot of what I'm referring to:

By default jira would simply try to increment the sprint names based on an existing Sprint name. I don't think so there is a way to change that.

However, you can try something like thi, if its agreeable to your team

Sprint 11/09/2020 SP1

Thank you for your answer! So it looks like there's no way to change this and to continue manually changing the year until an update comes out.
