Why Epics in a project are not showing up as Child Issues in the Initiatives Project?

I have an Initiatives Project and multiple other subordinate projects with Epics tied to an Initiative via a Parent Link.  For most of the Initiatives, Child issues don't appear, but for one Initiative my colleague can see the 3 child issues but when I look at the Initiative I don't see them.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Make sure that you have permissions to see the projects that the child issues live in.

My guess is that your colleague can see the project that the three child issues are in, but you cannot.

That's not it as I can see all the issues in all the projects.
