how to assign default user to Jira task

Paulo July 25, 2021

I need to remove a deleted user who is set as default for a task step, then I need to assign myself. How can I do that in Jira cloud?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Jira is the most user unfriendly app of all the ones we work with in our company. Every time we have a problem with Jira or try to implement something new, it takes long time to dive into endless pages of documentation, time that no one has. In addition, most of the time the menus and settings described are not even visible in our version (sigh). At this point we are seriously evaluating a different tool.

Hi @Paulo

maybe you search the 'Default Assignee' option in the Detail section of the project settings:

, but technically you can set a default assignee only if he/she is the project lead too.

At the very least, you could create a post-function in the Create transition of your wanted tickets and apply the same assignee every time a Story, an Epic, etc is created:

Hi,

It seems that there is a postfunction in your workflow so go to your workflow and change it.
