We have a user base of 6000+ and we are migrating to Cloud.
The inline advertisements for apps create a suggestion that we might be buying those apps but this is a complex process : budget and security, support, sustainability and processes have to be considered.
1. The presence of adverts creates an expectation that those apps are available to be downloaded for users. Some of the apps are connected to products that some parts of the organisation use, but we aren't going to buy the apps, which is even more confusing for users.
2. The problem is that with so many users the cost is prohibitive.
3. We are already receiving notifications and requests for third party apps - this gives us an administrative task and will lead to time-consuming discussions - our support team is small and already flat out.
4. The embedded link which suggests we download data to Google Sheets is very confusing for our users as we are prohibited from using Google applications in our organisation. And if we click on it to download data it comes us with a very confusing message and fails.
5. These adverts are useless distractions and make the UX confusing, adding additional noise.
6. Our users are already being sent adverts for Atlassian Products - again this is a complex process and they tend to forward them to the team asking for futher clarification.
This is unsustainable given the number of users we have and the size of the support team. You are increasing the workload of the support team.
Is there anyway to hide these apps and disable Google and Slack links? Is there an issue on the Jira suggestions board?
Thanks
These are not adverts, one is a suggestion, the other an access display.
Under the recommendations, you can turn it off by clicking on the ... next to it and hitting "remove recommendations"
Under the "switch to", you can get rid of the unwanted applications by removing your access to the applications.
Thanks for answering - this only turns this off for me, not for users.
I can see there is a bug regarding product suggestions but it is closed and the recommended fix doesn't work. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-74009
I am contacting privacy@atlassian.com for more information.

Which inline advertisements are you referring to? Can you post an example image of something?
I've never seen any, but that doesn't mean they're not there of course.

(Administration is highlighted by mistake. The image below refers to an icon that downloads to google sheets - which we are not allowed to use. We are also not allowed to use Trello.

Ah! so, today I started seeing these as well! They were not there last week, so I guess this was rolled out recently. I have also not found any way to remove them, and have had 3 people message me about getting LucidChart added despite there being exactly 0 chance we'd add it.
Sorry Julia, I wish I had an answer for this. What a pain...

I received a reply from the Atlassian privacy team - they confirm that there is no way to hide recommendations.
They also said that we can't remove the option to export to Google sheets but there is an issue on their backlog for suggestions.
