Hello! I've been tasked with adding security levels to our HR Jira portal,
"I would like to look into to the possibility of adding some security levels to our People Support project in JIRA. For example,
"US HR is only able to see issues with “USA” as location. When our Payroll Specialist joins in August, I would like her to have access only to a certain issue type (not yet created) “Payroll”. Would this be possible?"
I cannot seem to figure out how I would go about this. I've seen how to configure security levels in general, but I am unsure as to how to do it for geographically based issues
Hi Daniel - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Configure your security levels as normal, then create an Automation rule that sets the value of the Security Level based on the value of the Location field.
You probably want to use an Issue Created trigger, then add a Condition for Location = USA and then an action for Edit issue to update the Security Level field.
You also probably want to use an IF/Then condition instead of the single condition, then you can add each location through the Elseif statements to set the value.
