Unable to open attached .pvt image in a issue

I am unable to open a .pvt file in a old story. I attached a JPEG image , I do not know how this turned into a .pvt file, I need to retrieve the attachment.

Jira Cloud (and for that matter, the other Atlassian Cloud applications) have no way to rename a file as it is uploaded.

The extension was changed by something on the client that uploaded it, not Cloud.

You'll need to download a copy, change the extension back to jpg or jpeg, check you can read it with an image viewer and then re-upload it, ideally with something that won't rename it.
