Using JIRA charting plugin for Time in Status report for JIRA CLOUD

We have the JIRA charting plugin installed for our JIRA cloud instance and I can see the average time in status gadget is also enabled. But I am not clear on how I can use this feature to find the average time in status chart for the issues.

Same for the "Time in Status" type custom field. Although it is available on the JIRA cloud create advanced custom field option but I cannot find a way to use it

I cannot tell from your question which of the possible add-ons you have; there are several with that name, "time in status".  You may want to look at the marketplace list, find your add-on, and look for their documentation on their support page.
