What is the difference between saving via Review Changes or Save view

Justin Gong December 7, 2023

Hey everyone,

In the Advanced Roadmap (Plan) feature, you have to commit the changes you make by Reviewing them. But after changing the layout or columns of the Plan, you can also Save or Reset the view.

What is exactly the difference between these two? Is Save view for changes made to the format / layout whereas save through Review Changes is changes specific to the issue?

Hi @Justin Gong,

review changes - as you rightfully describe - is committing the changes your made in your plan to the issues in Jira. Every change in a plan is not visible in the issues anywhere else in Jira until you actually push them through. You can see a very  clear example of that when you create an issue in your plan: the issue will be visible in the plan, but it won't display an issue key. That will only be there after you review and commit your changes to Jira.

Saving a view just saves the settings from the current lay-out in Advanced Roadmaps. That includes selected custom fields, the timeframe on your timeline, grouping and coloring options, ... It has nothing to do with data.

Hope this clarifies.

It does. Thank you.
