I'm trying to configure Jira so that I get email notifications whenever there are changes to my issues and issues I'm watching. I've enabled all the settings (see screenshot), however I'm only getting emails when someone mentions me in a comment. I want to see when tickets are picked up, completed, edited, etc. Am I doing something wrong, or is that just not a capability?
Hi @Lindsay Abrams and welcome!
Every project in Jira is assigned to a notification scheme, which defines which events lead to an actual email notification being sent. Please check your notification scheme as described here. Is the scheme configured to notify the issue reporter when the issue is updated or assigned?
Thanks for the answer! I think this might be the problem, unfortunately I don't have the Jira Administrators global permission--this looks like a setting that's above my permissions level.

@Lindsay Abrams Correct, you need to have at least Jira Administrator permissions to modify schemes. Please ask your Jira Administrator if you're in a company-managed project.
However, if you're in a team-managed project, you should be able to change the notification settings by having project administrator permissions only.
