Hello!
I'm trying to set up a simple automation whereby I receive an email when a form is submitted to my Jira project. When I've looked this up, the advice is to set up a 'WHEN: Forms submitted' trigger but this option isn't coming up for me, even when I search. Does this still exist as a trigger?
Thanks
A.
Hi @Chesters_ Anna welcome to the community. I was looking in my Jira Automation and found "Forms submitted" as a trigger. Is this what you're looking for?
If it's not there for you, do other people on your team have it?
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the quick response! But it doesn't come up as an option for me:

Hi @Chesters_ Anna ,
The mentioned trigger is only available in a Jira Service Management project.
Can't you trigger on issue created? Or is the form submitted later in the workflow?

Thank you for coming back to me! Interesting that it's only available on a Service Management project. I wonder why that is....? It would be really helpful! I just need to know when a form has been submitted. I can't do it on a work item being created as other people in my team create work items (directly, without the form). People outside my team use the form and that's when I need to know. I'd also like the work item from the form to land in a certain place but can't seem to trigger any of these....

Forms in JSM is different from forms in Jira. The JSM forms are based on an app that Atlassian acquired a couple of years ago, and the forms in Jira is an in house developed feature. The forms component in automation currently only applies to JSM forms.

Thank you! So do you happen to know if there's a way to trigger an email when a form is submitted in a non-service management project?

Since the form in Jira is associated with work item created you can trigger your automation on that and get notified when someone submit a work item. I do not think the form submission is a separate event...

Thanks. I don't want a notification every time a work item is created (eg people in my team creating them) but only when a form is submitted (from someone outside the team). Do you know a way of doing this?
