Hi Christine,
This is how I would explain it, hopefully it helps...
The main purpose of the Time to First Response gadget is to track how quickly your team responds to new issues, excluding responses from the original reporter.
- "Who added the first comment is not the reporter."
- Meaning that the gadget only counts responses from someone other than the person who created the issue.
- "The field [CHART] Date of First Response is present on the screen."
- Refers to a custom field in Jira that records when the first response was made. The gadget needs this field to be visible on the issue screen to function properly.
- "The context of [CHART] Date of First Response is global."
- In Jira, field contexts determine where a custom field is available. "Global" means this field is available across all projects and issue types, rather than being limited to certain projects and issue types.
- "The field [CHART] Date of First Response is not hidden on the field configuration level."
- This point ensures that the custom field isn't set to be hidden in any field configuration, this is similar to point #3 about being global, rather than hidden/not present on certain issue types or projects.
You may also want to add some notes about your configuration and how that affects the measurement. For example, is the first response time gadget configured to only measure business hours and business days (or not).
Hope that helps!
