Workflow Post Function: Can JIRA be configured to automatically transition linked issues?

Scenario: Instead of relying upon users to manually update the status of linked issues, can JIRA be configured to automatically transition linked issues? Much in the same way that triggers are used for keeping JIRA issues synchronized with information in development tools. Possibly a custom workflow Post Function exists for this, but the solution would need to be available for JIRA Cloud.

JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions (this add-on was free and pre-installed on our JIRA Cloud instance) has this Post Function available.

Transition linked issues: Transition all issues linked to the current issue through a specific link type.
