I recently converted a Jira user story that had an epic link, to its own epic. After doing so, the OLD epic appeared on the now new epic's card, even though there's no reference to it. See images for details. Seems like a Jira bug but I'm wondering if anyone has witnessed this before. Thanks!
Hey @Mike Buretta
When you move the Story to be an Epic, have you noticed a screen to inform the Epic Name?
While converting any issue into an Epic, Jira will request you to inform the Epic Name. If so, there might be a chance that the old Epic Name is cached in the browser.
Did a couple of tests myself and also executed in bulk but I could not reproduce the same behaviour.
Have you done something differently? Would be glad to explore a bit more.
Cheers,
Alex
Hey Alex. Thanks for the quick response! I don't recall the exact entry into "Epic Name" but considering it's required it would have simply been equivalent to the Epic Description or "Store Performance Model". Are you saying that if I were to leave that blank, that it's possible the previous epic name was carried over?

Hey Mike!
Yes, that's is my best guess. Because in all of my tests, this the Epic Name popped up as required to fill up. But on the other hand, you have it with the correct value on the issue view screen. So, have you explored a possible browser cache issue?
Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex. Sounds like the only remedy to this issue is a ticket to Jira Cloud support to have it updated on the db side of things, since neither I or our system admins can see anything on our end.
