agile board column for different issue type with different transition

Hello,

i am using JIRA cloud

we have one custom issue type which have transition from submitted--assigned–development ---testing–complete

we are also using default story/task/epic issue type they have there own default workflow transition  todo–in progress-done

we have an agile board where we use epic and use issue type custom or story

how do i setup a column in board setting for mix issue type ?

right now i can setup column as below

submitted--assigned–development ---testing–complete ---todo—in progress---done

can i separate out by issue type workflows ? like 

submitted--assigned–development ---testing–complete 

todo—in progress—done

A board does not care about the issue types.  Each column is a status or group of status, nothing else.

You could have a board with one column for every one of your status, but that might not flow too well as issues would not be able to be dropped into all columns and that's not too clear to users.

I think your best bet is "groups of status".  Set up something like

submitted	assigned	development	testing	complete
submitted todo	assigned	development in progress	testing	complete done

One issue type will follow the columns, the other will only allow for three of them
