how to make especial reports on Jira projects?

Denise Baack-Hernandez October 13, 2020

Hi, could you advise how to make special reports on Jira software.

I have a project on jira Software and we used as a Service Desk.

and I'm trying to make some reports with this information:

  1. The total amount of effort consumed per week on support tickets
  2. The amount of effort consumed per week on support tickets resolved within the dev-ops resource pool.
  3. The amount of effort consumed per week on support tickets resolved which required the dev resource pool.
  4. The % of incidents which require escalation/involvement / assistance from the dev team.

But I just have these options to make reports in my instance, what I could do in this case? please see the screenshot .

eazyBI has a set of different report examples you can check out in our demo account. Our demo account uses default fields only. You can add import most of the custom fields and add them for data analysis as well.

Here is an example set of reports for Time tracking. I assume "effort consumed" could be related to time spent on issues (Hours spent). You can analyze it by time, by user group (Dev). If necessary, you can add the Resolution or Status (status category Done) to the reports as well.

You can explore any other example reports and dashboards there as well.

Hi Denise,

Unfortunately while JIRA is pretty good at tracking things, it's not super good about reporting on them - there really isn't a way to do what you're after in JIRA out of the box.

Based on what you're looking to do and that you are on Cloud, I'm not sure dashboards would work; there are some plugins out there that would definitely help, but I do not think they have cloud equivalents ('Rich Filters' is the one that comes to mind).

You're probably going to be better off using either a reporting-specific plugin (If you have the patience and time, eazyBI is probably the most feature-rich), or exporting your data into some other tool.

I do a fair bit of reporting using Google sheets templates...not fantastic, but if you template the sheets it does work pretty well.
