When someone does an @mention in Jira will that only show on the notifications tab or can it be set to send me an email message that I was @ mentioned? I would like to make it so all my team gets emails for @ mentions instead of just in Jira notifications.  Is that possible?

Hello Scott,

thank you for reaching out.

As you can see in this documentation, the users will always get email updates by default for issue activity when:

  • They’re watching the issue
  • They’re the reporter
  • They’re the assignee for the issue
  • Someone mentions them

That being said, only the own users can avoid receiving emails when mentioned, by clicking on their picture at the left-bottom corner of the page > Personal settings and unflagging the following option:

If the users are not receiving e-mails when mentioned, please ask them to check their personal settings and flag the option above.

Let me know if this information helps.
