In a team-managed project is it possibile to have burndown chart updated using time spent instead of story point?
We estimate tasks using original estimate field and we track time spent using tempo plugin.
We are not able to see burn down chart udpated. Do you have any advise on how can I fix this issue?
Thanks
Hi @Diego Palumbo,
It appears that the burndown chart report of Jira does not consider the Time Spent or Time Remaining; it only looks at Original Estimate field. So, when an issue that has Original Estimate = 3h is marked Done, the Remaining line in the chart decreases with 3h, regardless of Time Spent or Time Remaining.
I'm afraid that you will not find a burndown chart or report in Jira to work in the way you want for team-managed projects. A solution would be search for an add-on on Atlassian Marketplace.
If you consider the idea of using an add-on, our Great Gadgets app has a Burndown Burnup Chart gadget that can calculate by Time Remaining & Time Spent and it works with team-managed projects.

@Danut M _StonikByte_ Thanks!! I found the solution...
As you mentioned, my issue was related to the status Done not defined for project workflow.
In my workflow I have other status marked as "DONE" but the status Done is not present.
I 've just added Done status to my workflow and now if I chenge tasks status to done I can see burndown and burnup updated.
I think this graph should consider other status defined as DONE for project workflow to properly update the situation.
Thank you very much!
Diego

Hi @Diego Palumbo,
The gadget considers as Done all the statuses that are mapped on the last column of the board.
Look at the board settings and ensure that all your done statuses are on last board column.
