Hello dear community,
I want to update "Resolution Field" with my own way. First of all, I would like to point out that I do not want to add to the "Issue attributes" part. Because we have standard Resolution fields and this is special situation.
I have come so far by following this path, but I cannot achieve the result I want. I hope you will share your experiences with me.
First, I created a multiple-choice field and placed it in "screen". Photo below:
In the next step, I added this screen as the screen for Transition in the workflow I will use. Photo below:
Finally, I added a "Post Fuctions". However, I am adding it incorrectly because it just shows done. The option that I have added to the screen and selected does not appear there.
how can i solve this?
Thanks again for your help
Best Regards

Hi @Y_ Oezl,
You can't - simple as that. The built-in resolution field is an absolute key concept in Jira. It is the one thing that makes the difference between open (issues that still need to be worked on) and closed issues (the ones that are considered done). It is such a key concept that it determines how issues are shown struck through, has a resolved system date field set with it automatically, is explicitly part of project permissions and so on.
Either add your custom resolutions as options directly (via Jira Settings > Issues > Resolutions) or build an automation rule that fills out the resolution based on the custom field you have in your screenshot.
Hope this helps!
Hi Walter,
Thank you for your answer. Actually, I knew this answer but just wanted to be sure. I will create an automation or create for this another field in tickets. They can see the resolution at another field.
Best Regards
