Hello there,
I cannot find this as of yet from my help searches, but sorry in advance if this has been answered.
I am trying to automate synching two user fields between parent issue and subtasks.
In the parent issue I have a custom user field called "Consistency Checker".
I want to assign a subtask (type Consistency Check) to the user who is indicated in this parent field called "Consistency Checker".
I have tried the following:
I think I have the branching setup right and I tested the smart value that it does print the right name according to the parent user defined.
But I am getting an error on my automation execution log that says the user doesn't exist or I don't have required permissions.
I tried selecting the assign issue permissions to include the Consistency checker role, and I tried to allow Automation for JIRA to have permission to change the user but I can't add Automation into the permission settings.
The user definitely exists (I tried multiple users too).
Can anyone help me debug this and get it to work correctly?
Do I need to access the userID instead of the display name? if so how would i write that correctly?
or should I select a different way to define who to assign the user to?
Cheers
Steph
