Is it possible to make it obvious that a JIRA ticket is linked to a Freshdesk ticket?

Deleted user November 15, 2022

Does anyone have experience with JIRA and Freshdesk integration?

I have integrated JIRA and Freshdesk so, any updates to tickets on either system will also update the other system.

However, when I look at my JIRA board, it's not not obvious if a ticket is linked to a Freshdesk ticket. I have to click into the Freshdesk integration field and see if a Freshdesk ticket link appears.

Does anyone know if a field can be added in JIRA that immediately shows if the ticket is linked to a Freshdesk ticket instead of having to click into a field to see if a Freshdesk link appears?

Hi @[deleted] - I'm not familiar with Freshdesk, but as part of the integration, you should set a component or label.  Then you'll be able to query anything with that component/label to identify it as Freshdesk.

Thank-you for your response, really appreciate it. Going to try a few things and see what I can make work.

@[deleted] , as Mark has mentioned - a label should help the identification. I assume you're not using 3rd party solutions to help you with the integration. If you're open to taking a look at such an alternative, check out ZigiOps. It's a no-code tool that connects Jira and Freshdesk in no time. It's customizable to fit various use cases and will help you automatically sync(link) the entities you want. Check it out and if you think it's worth knowing more - you can book a demo

Hi @[deleted]

I don’t have experience with Jira and Freshdesk integration, but maybe you could create a custom read-only field and then use Automation for Jira where you can find the API value within the Freshdesk integration field.

Then copy/push that value or configure an action that copies and pastes a text value “Freshdesk Ticket” on the read-only custom field within issue view screen.

Just some food for thought :)
