Hi There,

As a Jira Administrator, I have created a user in jira. when i tried to add users to a project role of a project the name was not shown in the add list dropdown. Attached screenshot for your reference.

Please explain me how to resolve this issue.

Check user groups that he belongs to and overall Global Permissions - Browse Users permission.

I Checked and confirm that he was added to "Global Permissions - Browse Users permission".

OK, but how about the groups? .. Does he belong to any? If so .. is this groups having access to JIRA?

The user belongs to the groups which are having access to Jira. Please see the attached screenshot for your reference.

The user was already added to the groups"jira-administrators", "jira-software-users" in the the global permissions are updated with these two groups. Attached screenshot for your reference.

What is happening when you paste full username? "cvellore".. Overall is something happening when you type? Did you tired on a different browser? Is this a problem only for this user or also other users?

When i type the full name it shows the name was not matching and invalid.

Are you using an internal user directory or an external one?

I am Using JIRA Internal Directory.

Ok, then the only thing I can think of is that the name you've given there is not their login id.

No, I searched with the correct user login ID. but, still it doesn't populating in the dropdown.

Hmm, I've got one nagging doubt left before I give in and go to Atlssian support and digging through logs. 

Could you show us the user?

Right, so what happens when you fill in the whole user name?

The c at the beginning of the user id looks odd to me, are you sure it's a normal "c"?
